If a scanned PDF came out sideways or upside down, this turns it the right way. Choose 90, 180 or 270 degrees clockwise and every page in the file is turned by that amount. It cannot rotate just one page, and it cannot rotate by an arbitrary angle. The page content is not redrawn, only the way each page is displayed is changed.

Overview
About Rotate PDF
Which angle to choose
| Choice | Turns the page | Fixes |
|---|---|---|
| 90° | A quarter turn clockwise | A page that is on its side: try this first |
| 180° | Upside down | A page scanned upside down |
| 270° | A quarter turn anticlockwise | A page on its side the other way round |
If you are unsure, try 90° and look at the result; the other two options turn it further.
How the turn is applied
The tool sets each page's rotation setting. The stored page content and its size are not changed, and the file stays almost the same size: in our test a 3-page, 3.1 KB PDF became 3.2 to 3.3 KB. The turn adds to any rotation a page already had. A PDF whose pages were already set to 90° and was rotated by 90° again came out at 180°, so a file that already shows the right way up could be turned the wrong way by running it again.
All pages, always
Every page is turned by the same angle. In our test, a 4-page file with a landscape page and a portrait page had all four turned. If only one page is wrong, the workaround is to pull that page out with Extract PDF Pages, rotate that file, then join the pieces again with Merge PDF. For a document where some pages are portrait and some landscape, the PDF Page Size Analyzer lists each page, but note that it reports each page's stored size, so a page turned only by this rotation setting still shows its original width and height.
Limits
Up to 20 MB and 200 pages. A PDF that needs a password to open is rejected. A file with only editing or printing restrictions was accepted in our test. Angles other than 90, 180 and 270 are refused.
Compatibility
Supported Formats
Accepts PDF files up to 20 MB and 200 pages, identified by their contents. Angles: 90, 180 or 270 degrees clockwise. Password-protected PDFs are not supported.
Guide
How to Use Rotate PDF
- Choose a PDF file (up to 20 MB and 200 pages).
- Pick 90°, 180° or 270° clockwise.
- Click "Rotate PDF" and download the result, named after your file with "-rotated" added.
- Open it and check every page. If it is wrong, rotate the original again rather than the result.
Highlights
Features
- Three fixed angles 90°, 180° and 270° clockwise, with nothing else accepted.
- Adds to existing rotation A page already set to 90° turned by 90° ended at 180° in our test.
- No redrawing Only the page rotation setting changes, so the file size stays almost the same.
Applications
Use Cases
- Fixing a scan where every page came out sideways
- Turning an upside-down PDF upright
- Switching a landscape PDF to portrait, or the reverse, when all pages need it
Good to Know
Limitations
Every page turns by the same angle; a single page cannot be rotated on its own. Only 90°, 180° and 270° are available. The turn adds to a page's existing rotation, so rotating an already corrected file turns it away again. Password-protected PDFs are rejected.
Files are processed on our servers and are not shared with third parties. Files are deleted as soon as processing or download finishes. Any leftover temporary file is removed automatically by our cleanup process within the configured retention period (60 minutes). See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I rotate just one page?
No. All pages turn together. To fix one page, extract it with Extract PDF Pages, rotate that file, and join the parts again with Merge PDF.
Which direction is 90 degrees?
Clockwise. 270 degrees is the same as a quarter turn anticlockwise, and 180 degrees turns the page upside down.
Why did running it twice turn my PDF further?
The turn adds to the rotation already stored in the file. Our test file already set to 90° came out at 180° after another 90°. Always rotate from the original.
Does rotating reduce quality or change the file size?
No. Only the page rotation setting changes, nothing is redrawn or recompressed, and our 3 KB test file changed by about a tenth of a kilobyte.
Can I rotate by 45 degrees or another angle?
No. Anything other than 90, 180 or 270 is refused.
