Free Tool Desk

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 7, 2026

This policy explains what data Free Tool Desk collects and how it is used. We aim to collect as little personal data as possible, and we have tried to write this in plain language.

Files: two different ways tools work

Tools that process files on our server. Most tools (the converters, compressors, resizers, PDF tools, checkers and similar) work by uploading your file to our server, processing it to produce your result, and then deleting it. Files are deleted as soon as processing or download finishes. Any leftover temporary file is removed automatically by our cleanup process within the configured retention period (currently 60 minutes). We do not manually inspect your files, share them with third parties, sell them, or use them for anything other than producing the result you asked for.

Tools that run locally in your browser. These tools do not upload your file at all: the Image Dimensions Checker, the PDF Text Editor, the Image Text Editor, the Screenshot Color Contrast Checker, the PDF Bleed Adder, the Address Window Position Checker, every tool in the E-Invoice & Invoice XML, Payments & QR, PDF Compliance & Inspection, Privacy, ID & Photos, Bangla & Bangladesh Tools and Office, Email & E-book Tools categories (invoices, bank statements, payment files, payment details, signed PDFs, emails and their attachments, ID cards, ID photos and Bangla documents among them), and these image and PDF tools: Signature Background Remover, Motion Photo to MP4, C2PA Content Credentials Checker, JPEG Quality Estimator, Image DPI Changer, JPEG XL to JPG / PNG, Document Photo Cleaner, Auto Trim Image, Image Compare / Diff, Remove Blank PDF Pages, PDF to Grayscale / Black & White, PDF Page Resizer, PDF Font Checker, Flatten PDF and PDF N-Up & Booklet Maker. They read and edit the file inside your browser tab, so the file itself never reaches our server.

One tool does both: the PDF/A Checker & Converter checks a PDF in your browser, and only if you press its Convert button is the PDF uploaded, converted on our server and deleted as described above.

Supporting files for these tools (the face-detection model and its WebAssembly runtime, the barcode reader's WebAssembly engine, XML schemas for invoices and payment files, pdf.js, the OCR engine and its English and Bengali language data, the JPEG XL decoder, the C2PA reader and a Bengali font) are served from this website, not from a third-party host, so using them does not send your file or its contents to anyone else. Payment details you type into the QR tools, bank statement and payment file contents, invoice data, text found in your emails, documents or recognised by OCR, converted Bangla text, metadata read from your files and the results of the checks are not logged, stored on our server, or sent to Google Analytics. If you choose to remember seller details in the Mushak-6.3 invoice tool, they are saved only in your own browser's storage and can be cleared with its button.

This includes text recognition (OCR) in the two editors. OCR runs in your browser, and the recognition engine and its language data are served from this website rather than from a third-party service. The recognized text, like the file, stays on your device. Closing the file or the tab releases it from your browser's memory. If you have accepted analytics, these pages count a visit like every other page (see below); we do not send it your file, its name, or text taken from it.

Contact form

If you contact us, we store the name, email address, subject, and message you submit so we can respond to you. We do not use this information for marketing.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4): only if you accept

We would like to use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to count visits and understand which pages and tools are used, so we can fix problems and decide what to improve. It is off until you choose. The first time you visit, a notice asks you to accept or reject analytics. Until you accept, the site does not load Google's analytics script, sets no analytics cookies and sends no visit information to Google for this purpose.

If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and receives technical information about your visit, such as the pages you view, your approximate location, your browser and device type, and your IP address as part of the request. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalization for it. We do not send it your files, their names, or text taken from them. Google handles that data under Google's Privacy Policy; you can read how it uses data from sites that use its services at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer. Choosing Reject stops analytics and we remove the Google Analytics cookies we can from this site. Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage, under the name ftd-consent, not on our server. You can also use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on or block scripts and cookies in your browser. See our Cookie Policy for the cookies involved.

Cookies

Browsing the tools, guides and other pages does not set a session or CSRF cookie. The contact page sets a session cookie and a CSRF-protection cookie, which it needs in order to work securely, and the administrator login does the same. Analytics cookies are set only if you accept analytics. The tools do not use cookies or browser storage to remember your files. Details are on the Cookie Policy page.

Advertising

We do not currently show ads and the site loads no advertising code. We may apply to use Google AdSense in the future. If we do, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads, and may personalize them based on your browsing. Google requires a Google-certified consent management platform for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and we will put a suitable consent solution in place and update this policy and the Cookie Policy before any ad is switched on. You can manage ad personalization at Google's Ad Settings.

What we don't do

We do not sell personal data. We do not keep uploaded files longer than needed to process your request. We do not require an account or personal profile to use any tool.

Your choices and rights

You can use most of the site without giving us any personal information. If you have contacted us and want to see, correct, or delete the message we hold, or you have any other privacy question, email us or use the contact page and we will respond. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data under local law.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles data, for example by adding advertising, we will update this page.
