You have an invoice as a PDF and want the customer to pay with one scan. This tool builds the EPC QR code from the payment details, lets you place it on the page where there is room, and gives you the PDF back with the code added. The original file is not changed: you download a new copy.
Both the PDF and the payment details stay in your browser. The code is drawn as vector squares into the page, so it stays sharp at any print size.

About Add GiroCode to PDF Invoice
The code. The same EPC QR builder as the EPC QR / GiroCode Generator (EPC069-12 version 3.0): you enter name, IBAN and optionally BIC, amount, purpose, a reference or free-text remittance, and a note. Errors are shown immediately, and the code only appears when the data is valid.
Placing it. A preview of the chosen page is shown with the code on top. Drag it with the mouse or finger, move it with the arrow keys (Shift for 5 mm steps), and set its size in millimetres. The size is that of the QR itself without its white quiet zone; a white border of four modules is added around it so it scans. Find free space scans the rendered page from the lower right and puts the code in the first blank area large enough for it; if the code covers existing content you get a warning with the share of the area that is not blank.
Minimum size. The EPC guideline gives no print size. The Swiss QR-bill guideline requires at least 0.4 mm per module, and the tool uses that verified figure as a cautious reference: below it you are warned and told how wide the code should be at least (modules multiplied by 0.4 mm). It is a safe lower bound, not an EPC requirement.
The result. The page content is kept and the code is appended to it. Pages with a rotation are handled: the code is drawn upright as the page is displayed. The file is saved again by the browser library, which has consequences: digital signatures no longer verify (the tool warns if it sees one), and PDF/A or tagged-PDF claims in the file are not updated. Check the result by scanning it from the screen or a print before you send it.

Good to Know
Limitations
The tool does not guarantee that every bank will scan every result. Scanning depends on the code size, print quality, contrast and the app. It adds a code to the page content as it is; it does not know the layout of your invoice and finds blank space only by looking at the pixels of the rendered page.
The edited file is a re-saved PDF: signatures break, and conformance claims such as PDF/A are not re-established. The code is not accessible to screen readers; keep the payment details in text on the invoice as well.
This tool runs entirely in your browser — your file is never uploaded to our servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is my invoice uploaded?
No. The PDF and the payment details are processed in your browser. The result is created there and offered as a download.
Will every banking app scan the code?
It is built to the EPC guideline, but apps and banks differ and the print quality matters. Test with the apps your customers use before you rely on it.
What size should the code be?
The EPC guideline gives no print size. The tool warns below 0.4 mm per module, a figure taken from the Swiss QR-bill guideline, and a code of about 3 cm or more is a common comfortable choice.
Why does it warn that the code covers content?
The area under the code contains marks. Move it to a blank area or press Find free space.
Is my signed invoice still signed afterwards?
No. Changing a signed PDF breaks the signature, so the tool warns when it sees one. Add the code before signing.
Can I add the code to every page?
One page per run. For another page choose it from the page menu and run again on the result.
